What is Cese

Cese

For more than 40 years, CESE has worked in the promotion, defence and guarantee of rights in Brazil.  It does this because it knows that inequality and injustice persist.

Set up by Christian Churches, CESE’s mission is to strengthen civil society organizations, particularly populist ones, that are engaged in struggles for political, economic and social transformations that lead to the structures within which democracy and justice can prevail.

Currently it is composed of the following churches:

  • Evangelical Church of the Lutheran Confession in Brazil (Igreja Evangélica de Confissão Luterana no Brasil: IECLB)
  • Independent Presbyterian Church of Brazil (Igreja Presbiteriana Independente do Brasil: IPIB)
  • Anglican Episcopal Church of Brazil (Igreja Episcopal Anglicana do Brasil: IEAB)
  • United Presbyterian Church of Brazil (Igreja Presbiteriana Unida do Brasil: IPUB)
  • Roman Catholic Apostolic Church (Igreja Católica Apostólica Romana: ICAR), (National Conferenceof Bishops of Brazil – Conferência Nacional dos Bispos do Brasil: CNBB)
