The Second Patak Maymu Inter-regional Meeting: the Voices and Knowledge of Indigenous Women from the Amazon and Cerrado was held between 30 July and 1 August. It was organised by CESE with support and funding from the European Union. Representatives from 19 indigenous peoples from several regions attended, in order to strengthen an inter-territorial network led by indigenous women, based on their experiences, political advocacy strategies and collective voices.
Dialogue took place in a context of intense threats, highlighting the central role played by indigenous women in resistance, collective care and the construction of sustainable alternatives. The meeting provided a space for symbolic, affective, and strategic listening, with moments of exchange about mental health, young people, and communication as a political and ancestral tool. The Patak Maymu repository was also launched online with contents such as podcasts, videos, and articles that strengthen the project’s collective memory and continuity.
