Representing the Brazilian collective of the WSF, CESE signs cooperation agreement with UFBA

On the afternoon of Friday, 26 January, an agreement was signed between the Brazilian Collective of the World Social Forum (WSF), represented by the Ecumenical Coordination of Service (Coordenadoria Ecumênica de Serviço: CESE), and the Federal University of Bahia (Universidade Federal da Bahia: UFBA) at the university Rector’s Office.  The partnership began in 2017, when Salvador was chosen to host the 13th edition of the WSF, which started in Porto Alegre and has been held in Mumbai, Nairobi, Tunis and Montreal.  Bahia is the first north-eastern state in Brazil to host the meeting.

The legal instrument strengthens mutual technical, scientific, cultural and administrative cooperation between the parties and refers to extension activities at UFBA, which include activities linked to the WSF and also cover the forum within the university itself.  The WSF 2018 will take place between 13 and 17 March; its main location will be UFBA’s Ondina Campus, while other places in Salvador will become ‘stages’ for Forum dialogue and convergence.
