#SilenceforthePain #BreatheBrazil

Less than a year ago, we counted the first 100 deaths from coronavirus in Brazil. In September, we were indignant at 100 thousand deaths. In March 2021, one year after the country’s first case, more than three hundred thousand lives have now been lost.  How many more deaths will we have to count? While some countries are extending vaccination programmes exponentially to protect their populations, in Brazil, mourning is expanding.  Enough of this negationism!

On 29 March, as Salvador celebrates its 472th anniversary, CESE and CEBIC – Bahia Ecumenical Council of Christian Churches, in partnership with the #SilenceforthePain and #BreatheBrazil campaigns, mourns the deaths of more than 300 THOUSAND people from COVID-19 in Brazil. In Salvador, Bahia, building projections were displayed to mark this date, in solidarity with the people whose lives were interrupted.
